Apple has recently released an update for iOS 7 fixing a major security flaw that compromised
email and other encrypted communication open to hacking if the user was connected to an unsecured Wi-Fi network.
According to Apple iOS 7.0.6 provides a fix for SSL Connection Verification. The problem was a major one, so major that Apple couldn't wait to release it in iOS 7.1.
Currently iOS 7.0.6 is being offered to iPhone 4 or higher, fifth-generation Apple iPod touch, and the Apple iPad 2 or higher.
The update provides a fix for SSL connection verification, preventing an attacker with a privileged network position from capturing or modifying data in sessions protected by SSL/TLS.
The update is fairly small in size and varies from 16 to 35mb. We recommend that you download the update using WiFi only after making a backup of your data with iTunes.
