Blackberry has been out of the mobile industry from some time now. Once the undoubted King of Business Phones is now at a point where the locale barely know its legacy.
However, in a surprising event, Blackberry has launched the first of its Android devices, The Blackberry Priv. Now this is the same device that was teased all over the web over the last few weeks with the project codename Venice.
This device is a full touch device with a sliding keyboard behind it.
In the era where physical keyboards are extinct, BlackBerry still is obstinate on having a physical keyboard. Some may feel that it's sheer obduration. But this feature is what will separate Blackberry Priv from all other Android devices available on market.
Blackberry hasn't confirmed any of the specs for the Priv and hence we are all glued to our Computers waiting for the device specifications to drop.
The current school of thought is that Blackberry Priv will feature a 5.4-inch display with curved edges and a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. That will put it right up there with the top-tier of Android devices like the Samsung Galaxy S6 or LG G4 .
The Priv is thought to be powered by a 1.8GHz 64-bit hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor and 3GB RAM . Again, that would put it on a par with Android devices. If BlackBerry is going head-to-dead with manufacturers like Samsung and LG , those are the standards it's going to be judged by.
It's also reported that there will be an 18-megapixel rear, and 5-megapixel front cameras.
These specs are different from the original leaked in April but are scrubbed from more recent leaks coming from Crackberry and @evleaks.
We can see the multiple elements to the camera lens, the 18MP designation, as well as OIS - optical image stabilization.
